1. Tu Duc Tomb: the ‘poet Emperor’, is set in an elegant garden with a magnificent lake and pavilion complex. The centrepiece of the tomb is simplicity itself despite the lavish opulence of his reign.
2.Khai Dinh Tomb:The construction of the tomb was started on 4 September 1920 and lasted for 11 years.It is the result of the combination of many architectural trends: European and Asian as well as ancient and modern.
3.Minh Mang Tomb:Fully completed in 1843, the tomb comprises of about 40 monuments. It is the majesty and symmetry of the architectural work that attracts lots of tourists to visit.
We stop for lunch about 1 hour to enjoy local dishes.
4.Thien Mu Pagoda:This famous pagoda was constructed by Lord Nguyễn Hoàng in 1601. Items of note housed in the pagoda include a 2,000-kilogram bronze bell cast in 1710, a stele dating from 1715 and the blue Austin motor car which the Venerable Thích Quảng Đức drove to Sài Gòn in 1963 before immolating himself in protest at the policies of the Ngô Đình Diệm regime.
5.Royal Citadel – Hue Imperial City:The seat of the Nguyen emperors was in the Citadel, which occupies a large, walled area on the north side of the river. Inside the citadel was a forbidden city where only the concubines, emperors, and those close enough to them were granted access, the punishment for trespassing being death.
If you have seen the Citadel, your driver will take you to your hotel after visiting Thien Mu Pagoda.
